ABOUT THE IMAGE: The Old Hag sets off for the dwarfs' cottage in her boat, her basket with the poison apple sitting close by. This rare storyboard captures the moment at about 1:05:15 as she pushes the boat through the reeds, a wicked smile on her face. Each concept and storyboard was incredibly important to the filmmaking process, especially during the making of Disney's first animated feature when the process was still new and was being refined for pre-production. It helped to establish the look, framing, movement, and positioning of a character in a scene, and this made the process smoother for animators later on.
