Scuttle

MEDIUM: Original Production Drawing
PRODUCTION: The Little Mermaid, 1989
IMAGE SIZE: 12.5" x 17"
SKU: CCV2606

ABOUT THE IMAGE: At the end of their tour of the kingdom Prince Eric rows the human Ariel out onto the water under a bright and romantic moon. Watching from the reeds, Scuttle impatiently blurts out to Flounder: "Nothing is happening." He notes that there's "only one day left, and that boy ain't puckered up once." In this scene he declares: "Okay! All right! This calls for a little vocal romantic stimulation," then soars away to serenade the couple.

Rick Farmiloe supervised the animation of Scuttle throughout the film, and these are his drawings. The animator wrote Scuttle's word of dialogue on at upper right: "vocal", "roman—" and "antic." The animator wrote the designations "165", "185" and "189" at lower right to indicate each original's place in the scene. Our certificate of authenticity is included.
