Mickey Mouse, "the leader of the club made for you and me," prepares to make guest stars feel "welcome as can be" in this hand-inked, hand-painted animation cel from the production of Walt Disney's classic television series Mickey Mouse Club. Walt Disney Production's musical variety television series debuted in 1955, each day of the week carrying different themes and introductions by emcee Mickey Mouse. This image (depicting lines on Mickey's gloves) can briefly be seen when Mickey dusts his coat off during the introduction of each Tuesday - Guest Star Day.
