ABOUT THE IMAGE: Donald Duck has had his fair share of fights in his extensive filmography, but this mother eagle is giving him a run for his money! Alpine Climbers put Mickey, Donald, and Pluto on a treacherous climb up the Swiss Alps to gather as many eagle eggs as they can. Mickey and Donald immediately get into trouble when the mother eagle spots them disturbing her nest, and Donald swoops in at the last moment to teach her a lesson. The incredible 12 field 5-peghole animation drawing is full figure with action-packed poses for both Donald and the eagle. You can find it at about 8:05 in the short with the characters measuring about 8.5'' x 6'' combined and nicely centered on the page. The graphite with color pencil drawing is marked 101 in the lower right corner and is initialed C.B. This is believed to be the legendary Carl Barks (1901 - 2000), who had started working at Disney only a year prior.
